and historians Sabine Olivari, Sylvia Rodríguez discuss their views.

The second segment of episode three is based in San Antonio and looks at how religious themes, images, icons, and ceremonies manifest themselves in Latino art and culture. It documents the Day of the Dead celebration that incorporates the building of altars and the image of the Virgen de Guadalupe. Featured artists include Alma Lopez and Cesar Martinez.
In the third segment, a story on performance art is explored featuring
San Francisco performance artist Guillermo Gomez Peña, performance troupes
such as ASCO, and performance art pioneers the Royal Chicano Airforce.

The first segment of episode four documents the movement, history, and culture of hip hop. The story looks at the new wave of Latinos who took hip hop and created a culture that revolutionized the hip hop genre. It features New York hip hop dancing couple Rokafella and Kwikstep. The second segment takes us to Miami to experience a music that is a blending of traditional Cuban music, explosive jazz, and American Pop, called the Miami Sound. Musical artists Willie Chirino is featured in this segment. The story of Rudy Perez is uncovered in the third segment of this episode. Perez is a pioneer of the Post Modern Dance Movement, who though legally blind continues to create and inspire as teacher. Perez also choreographs for his Los Angeles based Modern Dance Company. Filmmaker Willie Varela, a pioneer of independent personal film, exploring
themes of urban and border life.
